Do you ever worry that the guy you're dating doesn't realize what a catch he's got? Here is a simple guide to showing him that you are irreplaceable and how lucky he is to have you in his life.

Steps

  1. Have a life. Make sure that you have activities that don't necessarily involve him. Are you into cooking? Help with a catering business once a week. Are you a dancer? Get involved with a theatre. Having a substantial activity you are a part of says that you are motivated and interesting. He will definitely want to hang on to the woman with something she cares about.
  2. Make him feel that he is special (and irreplaceable) to you. Guy's like their ego's boosted a little bit once in a while. Show him how important he is to you. Let him in on a personal little part of your past and share a hope for the future. Be sure it is something that you wouldn't tell just anyone. He needs to know that you think highly of him. Also, leave him notes and small surprises to show that you care. Don't be too forward though. Guys like being the one to take initiative in most things so don't over do it.
  3. Have complete self confidence. No matter what you have been through LOVE yourself. KNOW that you are beautiful and irreplaceable. If you want him to know that you have to know it first. Don't let any past hindrance stand in your way instead use it to prove your maturity in overcoming those obstacles. Also important is being the woman who doesn't need a man in her life to be happy.
  4. Enlist the help of your friends. This may seem sneaky at first but it doesn't have to be. Having a friend or two leave you Facebook comments about how "beautiful", "amazing", "(fill in the blank)" you are sending him the message that other people think you are awesome and he should too. Be careful when having a male friend do this. You don't want it to see like flirtation which might make him nervous. The goal is to make him realize how perfect you are for him, not to scare him into thinking everyone is in love with you.
  5. Have your own opinion. No guy likes a girl who doesn't have anything to say or always agrees with him. Speak your mind confidently and with care. Don't be afraid of your own opinion. Also, if an issue is being discussed that you have not yet formed an opinion about feel free to say so. It is better to explain that you are still deciding on the said issue rather than assume a position you may not fully support. Your willingness to admit that you don't know but would like to learn shows determination and honesty- both good and desirable qualities.

Warnings

  • Don't be overly confident which is perceived as cocky and self absorbed.
  • Don't be too forward. Let him take the initiative in most situations.
  • Be careful when having a friend subtly compliment you where he can see. If it is a male friend make sure it is a generic friendly compliment and not overly flirtatious. Also make sure the compliment is something genuinely unique to you and not just a random and unqualified praise.
