This is how you draw a very simple face in 7 steps. You can do it on the computer or by hand.

Steps

  1. Form. Draw an oval on the middle of your paper.
  2. Reference lines. Draw one vertical line, cutting the oval in the middle. Now, draw two horizontal lines, as shown here. These lines will be erased later on, so don't press to hard with the pencil.
  3. Lips. Draw a bow just about the lower horizontal line. This is the upper lip. Now, draw a curve just below the bow, and a line to separate the lips.
  4. Nose. A little above the lips, draw a curve, that is not too wide. On each side of this curve, draw an open C. These are the nostrils.
  5. Eyes. Draw two curves, one facing up, and one facing down. Draw them on the upper horizontal line. Now, draw and color a circle inside the form you have made. In this circle, make a dark spot, as the pupil. Now, above the form, draw another line, a little wider maybe, and this is the eyelid. You can also draw eyelashes if you want. And don't forget the eyebrow, a little lighter than the hair color you want on your person. The eyebrow is another curve above the eye, and the line should be thick.
  6. Ears. Erase the reference lines, as you are done with the face itself. Draw the ears on each side of the head. They go from the eyebrow or the eye corners to the nose.
  7. Hair and Neck. Add hair and neck, and you are done!
  8. Finished.

Tips

  • Don't stress about the perfection of the lines, just sketch them out lightly and focus on creating a facial image filled with expression.
