In this wikiHow we show you how to make your remote control car spin.Generally, there are two types of remote controls: infrared (IR), and radio frequency (RF). Infrared remote controls work by sending pulses of infrared light to a device, while RF remote controls use radio waves in much the same way. Pragmatically, the biggest difference between the two is range. IR remote controls require a clear line of sight to the receiving device and their range maxes out at about 30 feet (9.14 meters). RF remote controls can go through walls and around corners, with a range of roughly 100 feet (30.48 meters).

Steps

  1. Get a remote control (R/C) car that has a flat back. You will not be able to balance your car on its back if it has a curved rear.
  2. Pop the front of your R/C car face up in such a way that it is balanced on the back, standing up straight.
  3. Push up and hold the accelerating joystick of the R/C car.
  4. Turn the other joystick to the right or left according to which way you want to spin.

Tips

  • Practice controlling the spin; see how long you can spin before losing control of the car.
  • You can balance your car manually at first and then learn to pop it onto the back, perhaps using an obstacle.

Warnings

  • You can damage your remote control car with this maneuver.
  • It can also damage the floor on carpet or any other soft material.

Things You'll Need

  • R/C car with a straight back.
  • The remote that comes with the R/C car.
