This wikiHow teaches you how to see what's on your device's clipboard, using Android. You can either paste your clipboard to see what you currently have on it, or download a third-party app from the Play Store to keep a log of everything you copy.

10 Second Summary

1. Open your text message app.
2. Start a new message.
3. Tap and hold on the message field.
4. Tap Paste to see what's on your clipboard.

Steps

Pasting your Clipboard

  1. Open your device's text message app. It's the app that lets you send text messages to other phone numbers from your device. Depending on your device model, it could be called Messages, Messenger, Text Messages, or Android Messages.
    • If you're using a tablet, you can open any app that lets you take a note, send a message, or write text in any form. If you can't find a suitable app on your device, you can open your email and use the text field in an email's body, or Get-Google-Drive-for-Android and Use-Google-Drive-on-Android.
  2. Start a new message. In your text message app, tap the new message button to start a new, empty text message. This button will look like a "+" or a pencil icon on most devices.
    • Alternatively, you can start a new message in a different messaging or chatting app such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Google Hangouts.
  3. Tap and hold on the message field. This is the text field on your screen where you type in your message. A pop-up menu will appear.
    • On some devices, you might have to add a recipient and hit the Next button before you can tap on the message field.
  4. Tap the Paste button. If you have anything on your clipboard, you will see a Paste option on the pop-up menu. Tapping on it will paste your clipboard into the message field.
  5. Delete the message. Now that you know what's on your clipboard, you can discard the message you've started. This way, you can see what you currently have on your clipboard without sending this message to anybody.

Using a Clipboard App

  1. Open the Google Play Store app. The Play Store icon looks like a colored arrow icon on your device's Apps list.
    • You have to be connected to the internet to browse the Play Store.
  2. Find and download a clipboard manager app on the Play Store. Clipboard managers let you keep track of your clipboard history by saving everything that you copy and paste. You can browse the Productivity section in Categories, or use the Search field at the top of your screen to find a free or paid clipboard manager.
  3. Open your clipboard manager app. Find the clipboard manager you downloaded on your Apps list, and tap on it to open the app.
  4. Check your clipboard logs in your clipboard manager. Your clipboard manager app will show you a list of everything you copied to your clipboard.
    • Most clipboard managers, such as Clipboard Manager and aNdClip, will open up to your clipboard logs. In some apps, such as Clipper, you may need to tap the Clipboard tab at the top of your screen.
