Miniature plastic skateboards known as fingerboards and tech decks are becoming popular toys, with countless tricks at the tips of your fingers. Fortunately, you don't need to purchase one to have fun. You can just use paper!

Steps

  1. Get an A4 sheet of paper. If you're doing this for the first time, I suggest you try it out with scrap paper in order to not waste any resources.
  2. Fold it in half width-wise three times.
  3. Fold it lengthwise into three even parts.
  4. Fold the four corners under the side with the fold showing.
  5. Lay the skateboard so that the corners are folded down and pinch the edges up and together.
  6. Bend the ends together to make the skateboard concave. Work out the folds so they get loose, creating "wheels".
  7. Practice - it might take a day, but you will find your own way of doing all the skate tricks. Kickflips, treflips (360 flips), and Hardflip on a Tech Deck are all able to be done on your new paper fingerboard!

Tips

  • Once you have built your board, try some tech deck tricks like the tech deck ollie, the Darkslide on a Tech Deck or the tech deck 360.
  • Browse the Fingerboards and Tech Decks for tricks.
  • instead of taping, you can staple (make sure you don't break it!) it to give it another wheel like effect as well as keep it down.
  • If you want, you can tape the bottom fold shut.
