Do you like to play Endless Online, but are having trouble getting started? Maybe you've heard about it and are looking to start out. Maybe you just decided to start up again. Regardless, this guide will give you some of the basics to starting a character on the free MMORPG, Endless Online.

Steps

  1. Download the game. Go to the official website and click the Download option. Choose to download the larger file, which is only 16MB and should take no longer than an hour to download with a dial-up connection. Install and run the game client when you have finished downloading.
  2. Set up your account. Click on the "Create Account" button. This will bring up a screen where you type in your desired username, password, and email address.
  3. Create your character. Log into your account and you will notice that you don't have any characters, to make one simply click the "Create Character" button below. You may now choose your desired look and gender. After this you may enter the game.
  4. Learn the in-game abbreviations and other lingo. To name a few examples, "exp" refers to experience, "char" refers to character, "drops" refer to the loot that you can find after killing a creature, and so on. If you get confused, you can always ask another player.
  5. Complete the tutorial. Now that you are logged on, you will appear in a tutorial area. It doesn't give you exact instructions, but you need to gain a level to advance. Kill all of the goats in the area, until you level up. To hit, use the ctrl button, and click on items to pick them up. Drag and drop items on/off of your paper doll to (un)equip them.
  6. Take the boat to Aeven, located to the north. Aeven is the name of the first town that you'll encounter in the mainland. If you have trouble finding a boat, you can kill yourself and be taken to the mainland automatically.
  7. Earn some gold. Now that you are in the mainland it would be a good idea to get some money.
    1. Ask a player to direct you to a hunting area. Usually, other players are willing to help a newcomer out. If you are having problems, you can wander about until you find a good spot. At a low level, you'll still be hunting goats.
      • Avoid attacking the sheep for now. They are higher in level than goats, and will easily defeat you at this point.
    2. Collect goat horns to sell. Kill the goats until you have about 10 goat horns and go to the witch's house in Aeven. Here, you can sell the horns for 15 gold each.
      • As you gain levels, you can collect more valuable "drops" from stronger creatures. (*Tip: You start out on Tutorial Island before heading to the mainland. You might want to try to level up to 2 or 3 before moving on. Collect snake parts as well as goat parts. The witch buys snake parts for 40 gold each. You can also find goats and snakes in the main world, but it's a bit harder to locate.)
  8. Purchase your first set of items. The items that you begin with are not all that great, so you should upgrade your equipment as soon as you can afford it. Spend some gold on new weapons and armor/clothes of your choice. Also small health potions are useful as they heal 20 hp and only cost 10 gold from the potion shop in Avon.
    • If you aren't sure about a trade, ask a friend how much the item is worth.
  9. Consider merchanting items. This is also referred to as "buying low and selling high".
    1. Obtain an initial gold investment. If you want to buy items to sell them back, you'll need a good amount of gold to begin with. You may wish to continue hunting creatures and selling their drops until you obtain about 200 gold.
    2. Look around for good deals. It will take some time to understand the ropes of prices, but this should come quickly. Sometimes if you are lucky, you can find people selling Dragon Armor for 100 gold and then you can resell it for 600 gold. Be sure to check the in-game message boards as well.
  10. Join a party. You can join other players' parties by right-clicking their character and selecting "Join". Partying is useful because you will share experience, allowing you to hunt stronger creatures for a longer period of time. You will split the experience 50% with him or her.
    • This can also be useful if you have a high level friend who can attack very high level monsters. You don't have to do anything and you can gain loads of experience.
  11. Start your own life (class). Now that you have all your things. you can now choose a life you wish to live. You could become a peasant, a warrior, a priest, a mage — anything that you can think of! The possibilities are Endless.

Tips

  • Goats may drop peasant clothes from time to time.
  • Gold and silver rings give lots of health and so do belts so stock up on those asap!
  • Role play! Role-playing is encouraged in Endless Online, so take the role of whatever you want! You could even be a rich king!
  • Go to the castle and complete the Castle Maze. You will gain 3,500 experience points for doing so. Note that this can only be done once.
    • The castle maze is very difficult, your first time around. If you get stuck, you may be able to search for maps of the maze online, or get a friend to help.
  • There is an individual called the "Wise Man" that you can speak with if you decide to change your class, at no additional cost. He is found wandering around the center square of Aeven.
  • To switch to the test server, go to your start button, go to endless online, click endless online setup, and a screen should pop up. Change the server from the main endless online to the test endless online.
  • If you are having trouble with a big population on the main server, try the test server. There are less than 200 players on it, and most of them can be more friendly.
  • In the tutorial, you can collect 2 goat horns and craft them into a dagger. Go inside the small cabin to do so.

Warnings

  • Make sure who ever you are trading with are trustworthy; you don't want to get scammed, do you? If they ask to try on items, drop trade or borrow anything, don't.
  • Always make sure that you know the price of the item you are purchasing. You could be tricked out of some of your money or items!
  • You cannot sell any more than 100 of an item to a NPC or it will result in you getting an IP ban for 20 minutes.
  • As with any MMORPG, you can become addicted very easily. Play in moderation!
  • As in real life, there are an abundance of liars, cheaters and scammers on EO. Keep this in mind while interacting with others.
  • Don't believe anyone who tells you gob helms will do anything good for you. It's a trick they play on people who are new (Newbs) as the helms are cursed. You will need a Cure Potion (50g) from the Aeven Grocery in order to remove it. Frog masks give 5 accuracy and 1 damage.
  • If anyone offers to take you somewhere for money or something, don't do it. it's a scam so they just walk right along
  • Be careful of a scam, whoever you are trading with will put up the asking price of the item then when you are about to agree he may use a button or program and the price will change to the item to 1 gold piece and agree very fast. Watch out!
  • Don't buy or sell game accounts, you may get scammed or be considered a scammer. If you do really want to buy or sell an account make sure you have a trusted mm (middleman)
  • Speeding, scamming, duplicating items is illegal, and can result in being banned. If you discover anyone doing one of those report them to an admin.
