You can change the character repeat delay, character repeat rate, and cursor blink rate on your Windows 7 PC. Doing so can increase your typing speed.

Steps

  1. Open the Keyboard properties. Go to the Start menu and search for Keyboard. Now select Keyboard from the search results.
  2. Change the Character Repeat Delay and Character Repeat Rate. Just move the point with your mouse to adjust the speed.
  3. Test the settings. Type something on the box to check your character repeat speed.
  4. Change the Cursor Blink Rate. Move the point to the right to increase the cursor blink speed, or to the left to decrease the speed. You can also check the cursor blink rate on the left.
  5. Click on the Apply to save your changes.
