Male seahorses carry babies on their pouch instead of the females, it's still not clear why this reversal occurs. They are also very much related to the pipe fish. Let's learn to draw your very own seahorse with these easy steps!

Steps

  1. Start with a rough sketch of the figure. Draw a curved line as basis for the seahorse.
  2. Sketch in an oval for the head, circle for the eyes and a thin curvy triangle for the snout.
  3. Add in ovals for the body as shown. Draw a tail curved in towards the body.
  4. Draw in fins and rings using combinations of straight and curved lines; sketch in more details that you want. You can copy details from pictures of seahorses or create your own species.
  5. Now outline your drawing and don't forget to erase guidelines.
  6. Color it in and be creative. The more colorful the better!
