Your Reading List in Safari allows you to mark webpages for later reading. The Reading list is synced between all of your connected devices, allowing you to access it from your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Adding sites to your Reading List enables you to view them offline as well. If your reading list is starting to get a bit crowded, you can quickly remove entries you no longer need. See Step 1 below to learn how.

Steps

  1. Open Safari. This can be found on your device's Home screen.
  2. Tap the Bookmarks icon. This is located to the left of the address bar at the top of the screen on an iPad, or at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone. It looks like the outline of an open book.
  3. Tap the Reading Glasses icon. This appears at the top of the Bookmarks list, and switches to your Reading List.
  4. Show all the Reading List entries. When you open an item on your Reading List, it gets hidden from the main view. To see all of your Reading List entries, read and unread, tap the "Show All" button at the bottom of the list.
  5. Swipe the entry you want to remove. Swipe the entry you want to delete from right to left. This will reveal the read "Delete" button.
  6. Tap the "Delete" button. This will remove the selected entry from your Reading List.[1]

Warnings

  • There is no confirmation that will pop up when you touch the "Delete" button. So think twice before you act.
