Alternative Method

If the above fails because you do not have Msetup4 or because the printer isn't automatically detected, try this approach (on Windows 7):

  1. Discover the printer's IP address either by
    • Downloading and running the Canon "CanonAPChkTool"
    • .Logging into your router and checking its "status"
  2. Go to Printers / Add Printer / Add Wireless Printer / Stop / Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.
  3. Feed it the IP address that was found. Click Next.
  4. Hopefully it will install.
    • The IP address is used to query the MAC address. The MAC address is used to create the actual printer port. The IP address can be freely reallocated.
