View a PST File Without Outlook Installed Using with PST File Viewer
This Wiki page is intended for those users who are having difficulties in viewing and opening the MS Outlook PST files. This article is also useful for those users whose PST File is corrupt and for users who don't have Outlook installed but need to view and open PST file content. The prerequisite of the tutorial is that you need PST file as well as Outlook PST File Viewer which you can download from the developer site.
Steps
- Download and install PST File Viewer which is freely available from the developer site. http://www.freeviewer.org/pst/
- Run the Application and provide the location of your Outlook PST file.
- The tool also enable user to view the PST File if they are corrupt, simply select "advance scan" feature in that case otherwise click on "Quick" button. Now Click "Add File" for the scanning process to began.
- Let the scanning process to get completed. The scanning time varies depending upon the size of the PST file as well as the scanning mode that you have selected.
- After the scanning process is completed the details such as Email, contact info, task, notes etc gets listed in the right hand side of the application. Click the one that you want to view e.g. Inbox.
- The View bar will give detail analysis of the selected feature. You can also view any associated attachment that exists within that specific Email.
