Use your leftover red packets from Chinese New Year to make a fish as a decoration for your home. Just follow this four step guide to make a simple fish. For a more complex fish, watch the video below.

Steps

  1. Get one red Chinese envelope.
  2. Cut the envelope into a square.
  3. Cut a straight line from any one point of the red packet. Do not cut the red packet in half, just halfway.
    • Place your penknife/cutter into the red packet and cut open the 3 closed sides to split the red packet into 2 if you want to make 2 fish.
    • NOTE: The step is doable, but you end up with one colorful fish and one dull one.
  4. Put both ends of the 'tail' together and staple them together.
  5. Poke a hole through the upper fin using a needle and pull a thread through the hole.
  6. Tie a knot on the end.
  7. Finished.
