Does you bedroom get extremely hot at night? Do you not want to spend $200-$400 on a portable A/C unit? Here are instructions for a cheap, basic air conditioning unit.

Steps

  1. Find an ordinary 20"x20" household box fan. If you don't have one, they are $14.99 at your local hardware store.
  2. Go to the store and get a 6 pack of bottled water.
  3. Open the caps and add about 2-3 tablespoons of salt (Morton's works best) to each water bottle.
  4. Cap off the modified water bottles and place them in the freezer overnight.
  5. Set the box fan up in your bedroom, on top of a table, preferably.
  6. The next day, take the modified frozen water bottles out of the freezer and place them on a serving tray.
  7. Place the serving tray with the modified frozen water bottles on it in front of the box fan.
  8. Turn on the box fan and stay cool!
  9. Each morning, place the water bottles back in the freezer for a day until you want to use the air conditioner again that night.
  10. Finished.
