Catch Victini in Pokémon Black and White
Victini is a Legendary Pokémon that was only available for a limited time in Pokémon Black and White. If you weren't able to complete the task during the specific time frame, you may feel like you're out of luck. Thankfully, if you have an Action Replay for your Game Boy, you can use a simple code to activate Victini and allow you to capture it. This guide will show you how to enter the code, as well as capture Victini during the event.

Using an AR Code
- Enter the code. If you weren’t able to get Victini during the event time, and you can’t find anyone to trade you one, you can use the Action Replay cheat program to hack the Pokémon game and allow you to catch a Victini. Add the following code to your AR code list:

- 12250030 000001EE

- Start your game. Prepare to fight Victini in the wild. The Victini unlocked by the code can be a wide variety of levels, even 70+, so be sure that you Pokémon that can handle the fight. Stock up on Pokeballs so that you have enough strong Pokeballs to capture it.
- Hold the select button. Once you see the light flash on your DS, the code has been activated. Walk into any tall grass, and in a moment you should be attacked by a wild Victini.
- Battle Victini. In order to capture Victini, it will need to have a red health bar. Use regular attacks to take it down quickly, and then weak attacks to get the health bar into the red. Once Victini’s health is low, start trying to capture it with your Pokeballs. This may take several tries. Once you’ve captured it, it will be part of your Pokémon team.
Obtaining a Liberty Pass
- Log into Nintendo Wi-Fi on the specified dates. In order to get Victini, you will need to connect to the internet with your DS between the following dates. Doing so will earn you a Liberty Pass, which you can use to find Victini:
- Europe - Mar. 4, 2011 to Apr. 27, 2011
- North America - Mar. 6, 2011 to Apr. 27, 2011
- Australia - Mar. 10, 2011 to Apr. 28, 2011
- If you were unable to connect to the internet during this time, you will have to obtain Victini through trading with another player, or by using an Action Replay cheat code which is detailed below.
- Select Mystery Gift from the Main Menu. You can access this in both Pokémon White and Black. Select Yes when asked if you want to begin Wireless Communications.
- Select “Get Via Nintendo WFC”. This will connect you to the Nintendo servers and begin searching for available gifts. It may take a moment to complete the search. Once the search is done, click “Get Liberty Pass”. The pass will then download to your DS.
- Start your game. Once you’ve downloaded the pass, return to the main menu and load your game. Find and enter any Pokémon Center in the game, and then talk to the Delivery Man who will be waiting there. He will give you your Liberty Pass.
- Go to Castelia City. It is the large city located in the bottom-center of the Unova map. You can get to the city on foot by Route 4. Stock up on expensive Pokeballs such as Ultra Balls and Great Balls, as Victini can be difficult to capture.
- Go to the furthest pier on the left. Speak to the captain waiting by the boat, and he will take you to Liberty Garden if you are holding the Liberty Pass.
- Walk around the lighthouse. Once you arrive, there will be some people you can talk to if you wish. You will need to head up and then right to circle around the lighthouse. You will be forced to fight several Team Plasma members on the way to the lighthouse entrance.
- There is an Ultra Ball in the trash cans on the far left side of the island, directly below where you entered. You will need to go all the way around to reach it, because the crowd is blocking the path where you arrive. The Ultra Ball will make catching the Victini much easier.
- Enter the lighthouse. You will need to fight a Team Plasma member on the way in, and then the man on your left will offer to heal all of your Pokémon. Head down the stairs and fight the other Team Plasma members on your way to Victini.
- The Team Plasma’s Pokémon range from levels 15-20.
- Talk to Victini. This will initiate the battle. Victini will use fire attacks, so fight it using a Pokémon that is resistant to fire. Victini is Level 15.
- Lower Victini’s health. Use small attacks to whittle Victini’s health down without accidentally knocking it out. You want to get Victini into the red portion of its HP bar.
- If you accidentally knock out Victini, exit the room and reenter it to try again.
- Start throwing Pokeballs. Once Victini’s health is in the red, start trying to capture it. Use strong Pokeballs such as Ultra Balls and Great Balls. You may have to try several times in order to catch it. Once you’ve captured Victini, it is added to your list of Pokémon.

Tips
- Victini's moves are: Confusion, Incinerate, Quick attack and Endure on the first encounter.
- As one of the legendaries, its catch rate is 25/100 so your best bet is to use good catch rate Pokeballs, such as Ultra balls.
- There are many different types of Pokeballs, select the ones that have the best advantage.
- Use status inflicting moves such as sleep, paralyzes, freeze, etc.
- Be careful with status ailments such as poison, burn etc. These ailments lower HP each turn.
- Don't try using one hit KO's it is has a 39% chance of using the move endure.

- You can only get one Liberty Pass per game card.
