Make a Calendar in Word

Microsoft Word provides a number of calendar templates that you can use to create calendars. These steps work best for Word 2007 and later. You can create a calendar using Make-a-Calendar-in-Word or Make-a-Calendar-in-Word. In order for these steps to work, you will need a working Internet connection.

Steps

Creating a New Calendar

  1. Open Word.
  2. Click the File menu.
    • If you're using Word 2007, click the round Office button.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the New window, in the Search for online templates field, next to Suggested searches, click Calendar.
    • In Word 2007, in the New Document window in the Templates column, click Calendars.
  5. Scroll down to find a calendar you like, and then click it to select it.
    • If you're not happy with the Microsoft provided calendar templates, click here to download free calendar templates.
  6. Click Create.
  7. The calendar template opens in a new Word document.
  8. Edit the calendar as you would any other Word document.
  9. Remember to save when you're done.

Creating a New Calendar in Word for Mac

  1. Open Word.
  2. Click the File menu.
  3. Click New from Template.
  4. In the Word Document Gallery window in the TEMPLATES sidebar, click Calendars.
  5. Find a calendar template you like, and then click it to select it.
  6. Click the Colors dropdown menu, and then click a color scheme that you like.
  7. Click the Fonts dropdown menu, and then click a font scheme you like.
  8. In the Select Calendar Dates dialog box, choose the starting month and year for your calendar.
  9. Edit the calendar as you would any other Word document.
  10. Remember to save when you're done.
