The ability to make up a song on the spot is very useful for fast entertainment and for stand-up comedy, entertainment, and skits. This article explains you how to successfully compose a song on the spot, using a method for making up a four line song with rhyming of lines 2 and 4 only. It may be useful in life. However old you are, it is so fun.

Steps

  1. Think about a word that relates to your song that has many words that rhyme to it. For example, if you want to sing about trees then use the word "tree". This will be the last word of the fourth line.
  2. Think of a word that rhymes with that word. For example, if you are using tree, use the word bee.
  3. Fill in the rest of the syllables, while using those 2 rhyming words. For example:

    When I was driving,
I got stung by a bee.
I let go of the wheel,
    And crashed into a tree.
  4. Remember that you can use anywhere between 3 to about 7 syllables to fit in one line. Just say the syllables in a longer or shorter amount of time.
  5. Ask family or friends to give you an idea on what to write about if you're feeling uninspired. Random dictionary, online, or book searches can help inspire you. Go for a walk and use nature or the urban environment to inspire your thoughts.

Tips

  • Having a rhythm in your head already will make it easier to come up with lyrics. Think of songs you know quite well and use the rhythm from it.
  • Go through the alphabet to find a rhyming word. If you want to rhyme something with tree, go "Bee Cee Dee Fee Gee Hee Jee Kee Lee Mee Nee Pee Quee Ree See Tee Vee Wee Xee Yee Zee". The words that rhyme with tree are bee, see, key, me, knee, we, sea, pee, gee...
  • If you want to write a song that is good, use your imagination.
  • If you're writing a song just for fun, don't be scared to get crazy with it.
  • If you want to make the song funny, think about something funny that could go at the end of a song. If the song is about bears, make the final line "Then I got mauled by a bear".
  • You could write the song about something that makes you happy or excited.

Warnings

  • If you are going to make a song up about someone, tell them about it so that they do not take it the wrong way. You don't want to make enemies.
