As most people know, Bagon is a blue dragon Pokémon that is extremely rare and evolves into the amazing Salamence after Shelgon. This is a guide on how to catch it in Pokémon games in the Hoenn region.

Steps

Meteor Falls

  1. Go to Meteor Falls.
  2. Cross the bridge to the left side and Surf in the water.
  3. Climb the waterfall and land.
  4. Go through the door.
  5. Walk north and go down the stairs.
  6. Take the northern path and go upstairs.
  7. Walk north and fight the Dragon Tamer.
  8. Jump down by keeping going at the left side. You will reach stairs going down. Go downstairs.
  9. Surf to the first door you see. Land, and go through the door.
  10. Surf and there, you will find TM02, Dragon Claw.
  11. Walk around until you find a Bagon.

Catching Bagon earlier in the game

This is one of the only methods to obtain a strong Dragon type early in the game without cheating or hacks.

  1. After the events in Fallarbor Town, you will be able to access Meteor Falls.
  2. Enter Meteor Falls and cross the bridge. You will not be able to use surf or waterfall at this point of the game to access the areas where Bagon are normally found.
  3. This is when it gets tricky. Right after you cross the bridge, go to the upper right hand corner of the square of land you're on.
  4. Without moving from this square, rotate your player around and around without ever moving from the square.
  5. It will take a really long time if you're not lucky, but eventually you should encounter a Bagon between level 6 and 12. Bagon will eventually evolve into Salamence and having one early in the game will no doubt give you a leg-up throughout the game.

Tips

  • These 10 squares are the only places where Bagon shows up.
  • Don't forget to bring Pokémon with Waterfall and Surf.
  • It will be easier to get out if you have a Pokémon that knows "Teleport", "Dig", or if you have an Escape Rope.
