This wikiHow teaches you how to remove unneeded accounts from your Android phone or tablet.

Steps

  1. Open your Android’s Settings. Look for a or wrench icon on your home screen. If you don’t see it there, you’ll find it in the app drawer.
  2. Scroll down and tap Accounts. If you don’t have the option to tap “Accounts” but see a list a list of your accounts displayed, you can skip this step.
  3. Select an account to remove. You can remove any of the displayed accounts, including apps like Twitter and WhatsApp.
  4. Tap . It’s at the top-right corner of the screen. A pop-up menu will appear.
    • If you don’t see this option, tap the account you want to remove once more. You should now see button at the bottom of the screen that says “Remove Account.”
  5. Tap Remove Account.
  6. Tap Remove Account to confirm. The account is no longer active on your Android.
    • If you deleted an account for an app (e.g. Twitter, WhatsApp), you will no longer be logged into the app.
