Great for college students and cheapskates alike. Cook a great tasting omelet without a mess on a foreman grill.

Steps

  1. Before plugging in and heating up the George Foreman Grill, grab a couple of magazines, a block of wood, a thick cutting board, or something approximately one to {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} thick.
  2. Place said object under the front feet the the Foreman Grill. It is okay if you have multiple items, but the goal is to ensure that the grill has a slight tilt towards the back of it. The front of the grill below the "spines" at the edge should be even with the rim of the back at roughly a 5 degree angle.
  3. If you are uncertain, test the grill with some water. If water rolls out of the front, you need to prop the front up more.
  4. When you are certain that liquids will not roll off the front edge, turn on your grill. When it reaches a decent temperature, prepare your eggs.
  5. Pour the beat eggs onto the back of the foreman grill SLOWLY so that they do not run over the back edge. They should start cooking immediately when they hit the grill.
  6. Once the eggs are cooked on the top, add your ingredients directly to the center towards the back.
  7. Flip the left and right sides over on top of the ingredients and melt cheese on top to hold it together.
  8. Remove omelet before it scorches.
  9. Eat and enjoy!

Tips

  • You can safely use 3 eggs before you are in danger of the egg mix running over the front edge. If you have a LARGE grill, you may be able to fit 4 or more.
  • Even though the surface of a Foreman grill is non-stick, using cooking spray or butter on it before adding the egg will make it taste better.
  • In the company kitchen we do not have a stove.

Solution: We use a small Foreman grill. To make a good lunch with a grilled cheese sandwich I cook first one egg. On leveled grill crack one egg directly on the grill and close. After well done, insert the flat cooked egg in between 2 cheese slice and shaved ham, use wholewheat bread, place the sandwich in the grill until cheese melts."

Warnings

  • The grill will be hot, do not touch it!
  • If the front edge is not as high as the back, or is too high, you won't make an omelet, you'll make a mess. Be certain you understand that before you try.
  • Most people add milk to the eggs before they cook them, but adding them in this case may not be the best idea. Milk usually keeps the eggs fluffy, but if they fluff too much, you'll overflow.
  • The omelet will be a funny shape, but it will taste great.
