If you're having a hard time growing out your nails, don't despair. There are several things you can do to help. This article will teach you many ways to naturally enhance the growth of your nails, as well as maintain their health.

Steps

  1. Refrain from biting or peeling your nails. If you find that you have problems with that, mix nail polish and hand sanitizer and apply it to your nails.
  2. Keep your nails at an appropriate length, and trim them when they get too long. Clean your nails every day to free them from grime and dirt - no one likes dirty looking nails!
  3. Push back your cuticles with a toothpick or a long, wooden cuticle pusher. Be sure you have a basic knowledge of doing this correctly before attempting it.
  4. Tomatoes contain biotin. They are effective in nail and hair care, as well as growth.
    • To give your nails a growth boost, mix 1/2 cup of tomato juice and 2 tablespoons of olive oil together. Soak your nails in this mixture for ten minutes. Once they've been soaked long enough, rinse them off and gently dry them with a towel.
  5. Milk is an excellent source for stronger nails. It contains necessary proteins which are beneficial for nail growth.
    • For stronger nails, dip your nails in 2-3 tbsp of full cream milk. Allow your nails to get soaked. After 2-3 minutes, rinse off. Do this treatment at least once a week. You will get stronger nails and this also prevents your nails from chipping away. This also smooths out your cuticles and increases nail growth.
  6. Wear nail polish to make your nails look longer and healthier.
  7. Moisturize your nails daily like you do to your skin. To do so, rub almond oil and pumpkin seed oil onto your nails before you go to sleep. The next day, you will have strong, healthy, and shiny nails.
  8. Be sure to repair your nails whenever its needed. Apply a couple droplets of Jojoba oil to your nails and cuticles. Then, spread a coat of Vitamin E on top. For stronger nails, rub garlic onto your nails.
  9. Once a week, briefly mix Argan Oil and lemon juice with a whisk. After soaking your nails for 15-20 minutes in this mixture, rinse them in warm water without soap. Then, towel dry.
  10. Give your nails a daily soak. Not only does this encourage nail growth, but it also strengthens them and boosts their health! To do this:
    • Mix seven drops of tea tree oil along with two drops of olive oil and almond oil. Let your nails soak for ten minutes, twice a day.
  11. Protect your nails while washing dishes. You can do this by wearing a simple pair of rubber gloves. This is truly one of the easiest steps to keeping your nails healthy and strong.
  12. Invest in household cleaning supplies that are natural and non damaging to your skin and nails. This tip will not only benefit your nails, but could very well benefit your lungs as well. It is commonly known that toxic fumes are unhealthy to breath in.
  13. Filing and buffing your nails is not necessary. Try alternatives, such as Shellac and Gelish, which are fourteen day manicures that encourage nail growth and boost nail health. Filing is just to smooth out any uneven edges to prevent it from snagging. Buffing is just to make them look better and shine them naturally.
  14. Take supplements that contain Biotin and Riboflavin which are the two key elements in nail growth. Look for supplements that contain a high dosage of both or one of the other. Be sure to take it every day so you will have healthy, beautiful and strong nails.
