Ever read news that's in 1st person, and they sound so amazing, so perfect, that it's almost surreal? Well, It probably is. A persona is like you acting out the role of a different person, like your living a different life when you write. It is easy to make your persona so bold, brave, and kind that sometimes, people get carried away. This is how to make a believable persona with spunk.

Steps

  1. Brainstorm. What are the traits you've never had, but always hoped to get someday? Or, use some of your real traits that you love about yourself. Lists are good to use for brainstorming a persona's traits.
  2. Figure out what the persona likes. Do they like to shop, or is a total tomboy? Do they work out for hours everyday, or just let muscle building go?
  3. Sketch a picture. Drawing your persona can help you remember what they like. For example, If they have a sticker collection, they might have stickers plastered to their shirt. On the other hand, if they like basketball, your persona could be wearing basketball shoes.
  4. Write and rewrite. Write a paragraph in 3rd person, then, to test out write it again except this time, have the persona tell the story. This is like practicing for a sports game, or training for a wrestling match. The more you practice, the better you'll get.

Tips

  • This might seem obvious, but make sure your persona has a certain gender, unless you use a different persona each week.
  • Give your persona a name and it could reflect their personality, or it could just be something to call your persona.

Warnings

  • Don't get to carried away with the bold, brave and kind. It's good to have those traits, but your persona probably isn't going to be based off of Superman.
