This wikiHow teaches you how to respond to a Discord message with emoji when you’re using a computer.

Steps

  1. Navigate to https://www.discordapp.com. You can use any web browser, such as Safari or Chrome, to access Discord.
    • If you’re not signed in, follow the on-screen instructions to sign in now.
  2. Click the blue friends icon. It’s the outline of three people at the top-left corner of the screen. A list of your direct messages will appear.
  3. Click a direct message. The conversation will appear in the main panel.
  4. Place the mouse cursor over the message. You will now see 2 new icons all the way to the right of the message.
  5. Click the smiley face with a plus (+) sign. It’s one of the 2 new icons. A list of emoji reactions will appear.
  6. Browse for a reaction. Use the gray category symbols to view available reactions by theme, or type something into the search box (e.g. love, kiss).
  7. Click the emoji. It will now appear right beneath the message.
    • If you’re in a group chat, multiple people can react to the same message with emoji.
