Finding and changing your WEP code is very straightforward. Follow these steps to know how.

Steps

  1. Find the internal IP address of your router (Most are in the range 192.168.x.x).
  2. Type your routers IP into your Internet's Browser and hit enter.
  3. It will ask for a username and password for my model Username: Root Password: Blank (don't type anything.) This is the default setting. This will be different with other routers.)
  4. On the Home Page there is a /AES), Wireless Channel, Wireless Multicast Rate. Click on Wireless Encryption (WEP/TKIP/AES).
  5. Choose Encryption Level. (Click on the Type at top) Then you will be moved to a blank box telling you what characters you can use and not use and hit apply.

Tips

  • Keep note of all passwords.
  • Change your default username and password to protect yourself.

Warnings

  • If you forget your WEP or username and you do not have a reset button on your router you will have to get a new one.
  • If you forget your WEP or Username press the reset button on most routers
