Cook a Western Omelet

A western omelet is a delicious start to your morning, with a kick to get you going for the day.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs, white or brown
  • 6 tablespoons of milk
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced ham, cooked
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup thinly chopped green peppers (or chilies), drained
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • Salsa

Steps

  1. Beat eggs in a medium sized bowl, adding milk in gradually
  2. Put a skillet over medium heat and melt butter
  3. Pour the eggs from the bowl into the skillet
  4. Tilt the pan or use a spoon to move the eggs around pan, cooking them evenly
  5. Continue cooking until eggs are almost firm in the center
  6. Sprinkle cheese, ham, onion, green peppers, and tomatoes on top of half the egg in the skillet and then fold the other side over on top of the cheese, ham, onion...etc.
  7. Continue cooking for 1-2 minutes or until the egg is firm and cheese is melted.
  8. Put the omelet on a plate and pour some salsa on top.
  9. Finished.

Tips

  • Move the pan in a circular motion with your wrist while cooking the eggs to cook them evenly
  • Make sure to be careful while putting the oil in the frying pan!

Warnings

  • Be careful to not burn yourself while cooking the egg.
