There are all sorts of spoons. There's the bouillon spoon, the demitasse spoon, the saucier spoon, the egg spoon, and the good ol' tablespoon. Each one is different, yet each one can be defined by the same basic characteristics. Below are two methods to draw a simple, every day spoon.

Steps

  1. Draw the spoon's handle. To make the handle, draw a stretched drop shape and bend it a little in the end.
  2. Draw the body of the spoon by making an oval attached to the handle.
  3. Using the outline as reference, draw another line following it. This will give some depth to your spoon.
  4. Color your drawing. Use grey, black, and white to make the utensil look metallic.

Alternate Method

  1. Draw a diagonal line.
  2. Add an oval at the top for the bowl or head.
  3. Draw the stem or handle. Feel free to change the shape of the handle to whatever you like.
  4. Add in a design at the tip of the handle. Alternatively, you can just leave it plain.
  5. Outline your spoon will permanent media. You can use anything you like (for example, ink or paint). Make sure to erase any remaining guidelines.
  6. Color it. Add highlights and shadows and you're done!
