Get Dratini in Pokémon SoulSilver
You would like to add Dratini into your party because you think it is cool and will evolve to the powerful Dragonite? If you don't know how to receive this Dratini, you've came to the right place!
Steps
- Make sure you can access Blackthorne City. Dratini lives in the Dragons' Den, which is in Blackthorne City. You need to have eight badges before receiving Dratini. You also need an empty space in your party for the Elder Way and you would have to beat Lugia.
Elder Way
- Head into the Dragons' Den and use your Pokémon's Surf to travel across the water.
- Find a Whirlpool in the water and then use your Pokémon's Whirlpool to get over it.
- Then, Surf in the water until you see a house with a pagoda as its roof.
- Head into this house.
- Talk to this Elder.
- The Elder gave you a Dratini.
- Dratinis' Stats and features are :
- Dratinis' highest Stat is Attack and its lowest is HP (Hit Points)
- Dratini is the Dragon-type Pokémon and its weaknesses are, Dragon and Ice.
- Dratini can be both boy or girl.
- Dratinis' ability is Shed Skin. Shed Skin heals any Status Effects given to Dratini.
Surf Way
- Head into the Dragons' Den and use Surf.
- Keep traveling across the water until you run into a Dratini. Dragons' Den Dratini are at a very low level. Lets say between Level five to Level fifteen.
- Use Ultra Balls or Love Balls. Ultra Balls are the best catching rate ball (besides Master Ball) in the game. Dratinis' are so annoyingly hard to catch so use Ultra Balls to probably speed up the catching part. Love Balls are used for the opposite genders. For example, your Pokémon is a boy, if the Dratini is a girl, the Love Ball has an advantage.
Gamer Way
- Head to Goldenrod City.
- Go to the Goldenrod City Game Corner.
- Talk to the man in front of the green game table.
- Play the game till you win 2,100 coins.
- Talk to the old guy in the corner on the left.
- Head will let you exchange your coins for prizes.
Tips
- Use high quality Pokeballs if you are finding Dratini in the water.
- Have an extra slot in your party to obtain the Dratini when you are chatting with the Elder.
- Dragonair (Dratinis' evolution) is in the water also, so if you are lucky, try to catch one!
- Answer the elder's questions with compassion toward your Pokémon to get a Dratini with high Speed.
