Have you ever wondered how to get exercise without actually going outside and doing a sport? Well here's one great idea: Dance.

Steps

  1. Get ready. It's best to do this after a shower because you feel clean and powered up. Wear some sweats, or you can just dance in whatever you're wearing~ (Ladies, you will feel more comfortable if you wear a sports bra, they tend not to rub as much.) It doesn't really matter. But if you are wearing long-sleeves, you may want to roll them up because you will feel too warm after a while.
  2. Play any music that you like. It can be slow, (If it is, you should dance slowly and in a jazz-like way), or really fast, (hip hop dance is best with that).
  3. Listen to the song once and get a feel for the rhythm. Once you have done that, do a couple of yoga stretches before you start. Do the kinds of stretches you would do in P.E. class or the kinds you see your mother doing!
  4. Dance. Just go mad all around your room. Oh, and also you might want to clean up your area, (room), because you'll bump into stuff otherwise. Remember to have fun, feel free and express yourself, which is what dancing is all about. You may not have the best spins or neatest twirls, but as long as you feel the rhythm, you're a good dancer.
  5. Repeat. The first time through you might feel a little self-conscious, even if you are all alone. Try a different song or repeat the same song and try some different moves. Just keep dancing around and eventually your inner critics will quiet down and you'll begin to relax and enjoy yourself enough to dance as if no one's watching!

Tips

  • Stretch correctly.
  • Make sure you have enough room to dance.
  • Try sort your diet out too, to not only get fitter but feel better.
