Make an Alcoholic Root Beer Float

Remember how great root beer floats were when you were a kid? Try this "grown-up" version and feel like a kid again.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 fl oz (45 mL) Vodka
  • 1/2 fl oz (15 mL) Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur; Tia Maria, Starbucks, etc.)
  • 1/2 fl oz (15 mL) Galliano
  • 1 fl oz (30 mL) Root beer or Cola
  • 1 1/2 fl oz (45 mL) Cream (Half & Half)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Cherries
  • Ice

Steps

  1. Fill empty glass with ice.
  2. Add 1 1/2 oz Vodka.
  3. Add 1/2 oz Kahlua; or other coffee liqueur (note: at this point you have made a Black Russian).
  4. Add 1 1/2 oz Cream (note: at this point you have made a White Russian).
  5. Add 1 oz root beer or Cola
  6. Float (pour on top) 1/2 oz Galliano.
  7. Top with Whipped Cream and a Cherry.
  8. Enjoy!
