Trying to draw an egg but you just can't get it right? Then follow this tutorial to learn a trick how to get the egg shape right. It's really quite easy!

Note: follow the red line for each step.

Steps

  1. First gather all the necessary utensils: paper, pencil, razor gum, pencil sharpener and watercolors. You might want to also use a ruler.
    • Start by drawing a vertical line delimited at each end by a small horizontal line (this will help you know where the top and the bottom of the egg must be).
  2. Over the vertical line draw three horizontal lines of different sizes delimited at each end by a small horizontal line (this will help you outline the shape of the egg).
    • These horizontal lines will help you create the perfect egg shape.
  3. Now outline the egg shape over the “skeleton”.
    • Follow the vertical top and bottom, and the horizontal left and right delimitation marks to create the shape of the egg.
  4. Add in some color.
    • Erase the “skeleton” from the egg interior and color with the watercolors.
    • Try to color following the shape of the egg.
    • Use light blue and light gray.

Tips

  • Always use a smaller paper sheet under the hand with which you are drawing to avoid smudging the pencil.
  • Use plenty of water to dilute the watercolor to a light shade.
