Worry dolls are a common feature of some South American cultures. Here is an easy way to make your own.

Steps

  1. Get a thin wooden stick/toothpick/ or wire about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} long.
  2. Get a short piece of string that is a skin tone color and wrap it around the stick or wire completely
  3. Burn the very top to make it look darker. This will make the hair.
  4. Get a bright colored piece of yarn. Wrap it tightly around the middle (for a shirt).
  5. Get a small piece of fabric and wrap it around the bottom. This creates a long skirt. Glue this to keep everything in place.
  6. Unburden using your worry doll. At night whisper your worries to it, put it under your pillow, and when you awaken hopefully they will be gone!

Tips

  • Usually it's better if you make more than one and put them in a little box on your night stand.

Warnings

  • If the worries don't go away, then face them. The dolls are merely a focal point for dealing with the issue, not a means for burying your head.

Things You'll Need

  • colorful yarn
  • centimeter long stick or wire
  • Printed fabric
  • worries
  • Fire/Match
