If you are a Naruto fan and would like to create a character to interact with the other characters then it might be fun to create your own Naruto OC (other character, as in not canon)! This guide will help you have fun and create your own character!

Steps

  1. Make a profile for your character. Including how they look, act, BF, BFF, what the other characters think about them, etc.
  2. Take some Naruto quizzes as your character, such as which Naruto character are you, who is your Naruto best friend, what the characters think of you, boyfriend/girlfriend, team etc.
  3. Making your own team is great. Characters getting thrown on teams like Team 7 (usually instead of Sakura) is way too overly-used. Try not to do it! You can make you're own team! (It's usually 1 girl and 2 guys.) If you're worried about not having enough interaction with the other Naruto characters or your planned love interest, don't fret! You'll most likely be living in the same village anyway so you'll be able to see them all the time!
  4. Take notes/keep in mind how Naruto characters act, then think about how your character acts. How would they respond to your character? Use the answer to edit your character's profile if necessary.
  5. The Naruto characters' personalities go into how they dress. Using your OC's personality, come up with an outfit (that you can run around in, your OC's most likely a ninja, after all)!
  6. You can add some of your own traits, but don't make the character an image of yourself. Nobody likes self-inserts! If you want, you can add traits from your friends, family or even enemies.
  7. Have fun with it. It doesn't have to be perfect!

Tips

  • Take quizzes as your character to see what you get! (This means choosing the answers your character would've chosen.)
  • If you're not good at drawing, ask a trustworthy friend or a good artist to draw your character for you! Just be sure to give them all the details, even the little ones like if she/he has a beauty mark or a birthmark!
  • Don't make you character perfect. No one is!
  • Give the character a hairstyle! Either straight, funky, or anything you can think of! Just don't copy the other Naruto characters' hairstyles too much!
  • When giving your OC an outfit, don't let it look too much like the canon characters'!
  • If you want your character to be a girlfriend/boyfriend to a character, make their love at least a little believable!
  • Don't be overly clichéd. We don't want to be predictable, now, do we? Be cool and creative with your character, something no one has ever done before.
  • If you want to add a little catch to it, then make your new character a sibling to another character. For instance, Hinata's twin sister!

Warnings

  • Don't try to steal other people's ideas! It can get you in a lot of trouble.
  • People may also look down on you if you make one of your characters date a certain character (such as Itachi, Sasuke, Gaara, etc.).
  • Don't steal pictures from the anime and 'edit' them. That is stealing.
  • This can be hard for a beginner, so be easy on yourself.
  • Try not to make your character closely related to a canon character, that is considered clichéd, and is frowned upon.
