Just like a computer, your phone stores information or data from your installed applications like browser, social networking apps, etc. Clearing your android phone’s cache can help to maximize your storage space and might prevent your phone from lagging or can help it maintain its normal speed. Scroll down to step 1 to learn how to remove your phone’s cache files.

Steps

Clearing Cache Files from Application Manager

  1. Go to your device’s setting. You can find your phone’s setting by pressing the Menu button. The location of the Menu button varies on every phone.
    • You can also find the settings icon in your app drawer; just tap on it to launch your phone’s settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to Application Manager. You can find all your running and downloaded apps in the Application Manager. You can sort them by size by pressing your Menu button so that the application with the biggest size will be listed first.
  3. Click on the application to check the App Info. On the App Info, you can see the details of the application such as Storage Size, Cache, Launch by Default, and Permissions.
  4. Press "Clear Cache" on the Cache Info. Cache Info is located at the bottom of the Storage Info. Press the rectangular button at the bottom of the cache’s size.
    • It only takes a second to clear the cache.
  5. Repeat steps 3 to 4 for other applications.

  1. Download the latest version of Clean Master on Google Play. Clearing the cache files using Clean Master is better than the previous method because it can remove the devices cache from all the applications, simultaneously.
    • Launch Google Play by clicking on its icon in your app drawer or home screen, then type “Clean Master” on the search bar at the top of the screen.
    • Once the search results show, tap on the app to view its information. The app’s icon looks like a broom with a blue handle.
    • Tap on "Install" to download and install the app to your device.
  2. Open the application. When the installation process is finished, the application will create a shortcut on your home screen and will also be added to the drawer. Tap on its icon on either locations to launch the app.
    • The application home consists of 4 functions that will help you maximize your phone’s storage.
  3. Press "Junk Files." Junk Files will help you clear up the phone’s unnecessary cache files from your installed applications. The icon looks like a trash can. It is located on the center-left of the screen.
    • The application will first count the size of junk files on your phone. Wait until the process is done.
    • After counting all the junk files from your installed application, a “Clean junk with size” button will appear.
  4. Select the applications you want to clean. Just check or uncheck the box next to the name of the app you want Clean Master to skip.
  5. Tap on the “Clean junk with size” button. Clean Master will then start clearing the cache of all the apps you have checked. Cleaning your app’s cache will not affect any of your application’s user data.
    • Done. The application will tell you the cache size you’ve cleaned.
