Steps
- Eat lots of fruits and veggies and take a multivitamin daily. Not only will this make you healthier, but you will actually tan better.
- The day before you decide to seriously tan, take a bubble bath and exfoliate to get your skin super clean and soft. Apply a lot of lotion after you get out.
- Before you go to lay out, drink a glass of water, put on your bikini (or any swimsuit) for girls, tie your hair up and make sure you won't get too hot.
- For optimal results, tan between 10 AM and 3 PM.
- Start tanning. Pick a good chair that goes flat, so your legs can tan too. Apply a sunscreen of at least SPF 25. You will still tan through the sunscreen! It is really important to do this,so you don't risk skin cancer and premature aging.
- Lay out under the sun for 15 minute intervals if you're pale, taking 10 minute breaks in between. Each day you can increase the time by 5 minutes.
- Continue the vitamins, take care of your skin and eat nutritious foods and you should be tanner in about 2 weeks! As always,be safe.
Tips
- Drink tons of water!
- remember,a tan isn't everything. Know your limits,if you feel sick, dizzy or nauseous take a break and rehydrate yourself.
- Tan between 10 am -3 pm when the sun shines the most.
- If you tan by the pool jump in when you start to feel hot to cool yourself down then dry yourself off and continue to tan.
- If it's really hot out, be careful.
- Always wear the sunscreen.
- You should tan when it's really sunny (obviously) or you won't get the best results.
- Natural tanning takes longer, but it's a lot better than tanning beds, which can irritate and burn your skin.
Warnings
- Hydrate yourself because you can get heatstroke,or get very dehydrated.
- Don't tan every single day over a long period of time, because you could get skin cancer, wrinkles, age spots, and worst of all... Melanoma.
- Do not tan between 3 & 4, as this is peak time, and even with sunscreen on, there is still a chance you could still burn.
