His voice is pure magic. He was earlier rejected as a news announcer in Radio, but his persistence made him a superstar of Bollywood cinema. Whether it's the dialogues Rishte mein to hum tumhare baap lagte hain, naam hain shahenshah or presenting the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire called Kaun Banega Crorepati?, his voice make listeners completely entranced.

Big B used his husky, deep baritone voice also for narration and background commentary in many movies.

You can imitate that voice effect to do voice over’s in radio, make speeches, singing songs or just plainly impress friends.

Steps

  1. Talk slower so it will allow voice to resonate, vibrating out of your chest.
  2. Tip your head down when you speak, as it seems to make a voice deeper when done correctly.
  3. Practice, practice, practice……listen to his dialogs, songs and try to speak out in similar manner...good way to start is the poem from Kabhi Kabhi -- Kabhi kabhi mere dil main khayal aata hain...else make up your own.

Tips

  • Don’t get frustrated, it takes many years to develop such deep voice.
  • Enrich your Urdu vocabulary (examples of Urdu words are shadab, justjoo).
