Same old story: You met a guy. You like him and he likes you....And cars! You want to impress this guy, but, you know nothing about cars. This happens a lot, so don't fret! This article can help!

Steps

Find out...

  1. What is he more interested in? Car types (Volkswagens, Mercedes Benz, Audi etc.) or car parts (Engines, speed, horsepower). Some guys might even be interested in car design (The round curves - Like a VW Beetle, The slick design - Honda Civic)

If he is interested in Car types

  1. Go to the car company website Most of the websites are just the name of the car maker. Read things on the website. "Build your *insert name of model of car*" sections of the websites are great! If he is interested specifically in one type of model of car, build that one. Look at all the colours, the available accessories, how much it costs (Starting and after you make it filled with items that make it extra drivable like automatic transmission, sunroof, winter tires, rims, body-kit etc.)
  2. Read about the car type on the internet, in books and others. If you really want to impress this guy, go to your local dealership and ask all about the car (Pick the one your guy talks about most) and maybe even test drive it. Just don't tell your guy you just randomly test drove, because that's just weird! Just say how it's, example, fun to drive, goes great even when on ice, goes up hills with speed etc. etc.
  3. Try buying products that have the company logo on them. A VW shirt here, a VW cup there. He will almost definitely be impressed!

If he is interested in car parts

  1. Go to a mechanic and ask about car parts. Most friendly mechanics will be more than happy to tell you all about engines or other car parts.
  2. Read a book on car parts i.e. a Haynes manual. There are lots of books for wannabe mechanics and just for people who love their cars and love taking care of their cars.
  3. Get some hands on experience(without wrecking your car). There is no substitute for it.
    • Note that if you have a friend who is a mechanic, you are in great luck. They will help you, if they are a good friend!

If he is interested in car designs

  1. Try to note the designs of cars he likes. If he likes the funny, cute design of the VW Beetle, for example, note that it is circular and has small, rounded, half moon type windows.
  2. Learn how the style affects the way the car moves or performs. A big block of a car, like the Ford Flex, may slow down the car a bit, while the Honda Civic may go a little faster since it is so slick and narrow.

Tips

  • Study!
  • Know the history! Was the Honda Civic made by Germans? No. Are Volkswagens German? Yes!
  • Know your guys favorite car.
  • Learn everything about the car/car part he is interested in.

Warnings

  • Don't be a faker! He will probably be freaked out if you are not for real with your knowledge.
  • Do not call the cars he likes "cute" unless he himself calls them cute! That is a big mistake lots of women make.
  • Don't ever say the car is 'bad'. He will just be mad. However, he may respect your opinion if you express reasons why you admire another model/make/component better, even if he doesn't agree.

Things You'll Need

  • The internet
  • A car to drive to the dealership (Optional)
