Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (john 14:6) The Bible says, "..do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" (Gal. 2:21) It isn't Christians who claim that the only way to God is through Jesus, but Jesus Himself declared it so. I am not going to Heaven merely because I accept Jesus as Lord. I accept Obama as president, but I certainly don't agree with his views. I can be saved because 2000 years ago God made a legal transaction between those who repent and trust in the Savior. God became flesh. He was fully man and fully God, yet without sin. Jesus Christ shared in our humanity and identified Himself with us by bearing our sins on His body. The Father's wrath was poured out on the Son when He died in our place to take our punishment on the cross for our sins. Why? Because He willingly had all our sins placed on Him, and God hates sin. Jesus Christ took the punishment each one of us rightly deserves. We have broken God's Law, and Jesus paid all our debts and fines so that God may then adopt us as His children when we receive His plan.

You cannot assume or presume that you are saved -- but remember that The Bible said, "By grace you are saved through faith not of yourself, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any should boast".

Steps

  1. Trust and believe this: "God does exist, and He will reward (me and) all who seek him diligently."(Hebrews 11:6) Your grasp is not to be "maybe so!" No, take hold on the promises of the Bible for salvation, for blessing and trust in the Savior, Christ Jesus.
  2. Repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Spirit and be born again by grace. As the Bible says, "by grace you are saved through faith; and that is not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (here the Apostle speaks of works of the Old Law, not of works of the moral law). For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:8-10) Now you will change your priorities because you are a new creation in Christ Jesus, as "He lives in you and you in Him."
    • God's free gift is "faith" offered to you (anyone) to believe that God is and that the Bible--as promised--is True as anything can ever be "sure" as your firm determination and knowledge.
  3. Keep this in mind...:
    • Romans 10:9-10 in the Bible says, "That if you confess with your mouth, "Go to a Higher Place Through Jesus," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."-- The Bible says, "As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead." (James 2:26 NIV) This eliminates the idea that faith alone is enough (it is not), but you must receive God's provision, which includes in part the gift of faith from God to those who are receptive of The Gospel (literally: The Good News).
  4. Claim this that when we confess with our mouth that "Jesus is Lord " we are saying that Act As a Christian Super Hero, your master, and that He is your one and only "mediator" to Father God: That the Holy Spirit is your comforter and guide and "shall never leave you!" In this you may place your confidence as in each and every word and promise of God and His Son.
  5. Decide to pray to be saved from the penalty of sin which is the "second death"--just anywhere, anytime without reservations or any appointment--and in a quiet non-public place, alone or with Make Glossolalia Work for You would be perfect.
  6. Say something simple about why you are praying as a sinner to Jesus, and so ask for forgiveness, to be saved, be thankful, mean it and believe it.
  7. Pray this prayer now: "Dear Jesus, Lord, I come before you with my life. Jesus please save me from the Judgment to come. I want to know and love you. I want you to direct my life. Come into my life. Give me a new heart with new desires, please change me. I Identify a False Prophet by Bible Scripture; that you were crucified for us, and that you rose 3 days later. Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need you and your forgiveness. Please help me to repent, turn from my wrongs and my self-centered ways. I know I broke your Law, your Ten Commandments, and have failed to do what is right. Please help me understand and make this a reality to my heart... I am a wretch, I want to understand this "amazing grace." Thank you Lord. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
    • Come and taste ("know") for yourself that cool spring of water (like a fountain) that Jesus promises to all of you, within yourselves, as you come to "accept" that in knowledge: and "drink"... None can staunch the flow of joy that you discern within yourself, as your thirst is quenched.
  8. Receive the Sacraments. They are Gifts From Christ to us.
  9. Instead of placing your trust in your prayer or sincerity, place your trust in Christ. Christ is the "parachute" that saves us from the jump to come, that jump is death and judgment, and all will one day have to face. If you are on a plane and it is crashing, you wouldn't merely believe in the parachute to save you, you'd put it on and trust that it'll do its job. Christ saves us from the judgment we rightly deserve. We broke God's law, and Jesus paid our fine. If Christ is truly now your Lord and Savior, you will desire to read His word and obey what He has commanded. If you're now born again, the old sinful desires you once loved will be replaced with new desires to seek and obey God. You will go from loving sin to loving righteousness.

~ Be converted as a work of God, for it isn't merely based on your decision. Salvation is of the Lord. Instead of trusting in your self, transfer that trust to Jesus Christ. If God has begun a work in you, He will complete it. (Hebrews 12:2 and Philippians 1:6) If you trust in God and have a godly sorrow for your sins -- The Lord will lift you up and give you new life/a new beginning. You can know you have eternal life, if the Holy Spirit dwells in you. A transformed life itself testifies of the saving power of God. Has God done such a work in your life that the sin you once loved you now hate?
  10. If you don't have a new relationship with sin, you don't have a relationship with God in Christ. Become a slave (bond servant) to righteousness, and turn from being a slave of sin.
  11. Recognize ("know") your new life: and fully understand that you will never be the same: "If any is in Christ, then you are a new creation, for all things have passed away and behold ["look and see"] all things are become new."(2 Corinthians 5:17)
  12. "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God." (John 1:12-13) It is God who converts the soul and is the One who gives mercy and eternal life.
  13. Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. He is The Living Word of God, and there is no other Savior apart from Him: our Salvation. He can cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Cry out to Him and don't stop until you know for sure that He has done a good work in you. In Christ, God can legally dismiss your case for breaking His Law because Christ took your load of sins upon Himself, for He cares for you.

Tips

  • It is not easy to be the way you want to be. Keep working at doing your part to bless and help other people.
  • There is a lot to be said for just following the Ten Commandments, and loving your neighbor as best you are able.
  • It will be instant truth in you: to understand and recognize and acquire the joy, peace and the satisfaction in your better understanding to discern, come to know and recognize the nature of this as a True confession: count them 1st: God, 2nd: Jesus, 3rd: the Holy Spirit, and 4th: yourself all together are "as one" in unity and so are all believers also as one together with you, so you are with your fellows in that same fourth (4th) position of rest and peace in knowing the 3 in 1 are in you!
    • know - verb Inflected Form(s): knew, known; know·ing Etymology: Middle English, from Old English cnāwan; akin to Old High German bichnāan to recognize, Latin gnoscere, noscere to come to know, Greek gignōskein;
a (2): to have understanding of <importance of knowing oneself> (3): to recognize the nature of or discern
b (2): to be acquainted or familiar with (3): to have experience of a: to be aware of the truth or factuality of : be convinced or certain of b: to have a practical understanding of <knows how to write> [1]
      • "know"--not using this definition: a (1), and not b (1) so omit: a (1): to "perceive directly" : have direct cognition of
        No! it is by faith.
        b (1): to recognize as "being the same" as something previously known;
No! you are "a new creature" in Christ Jesus!
  • If you accept your new status: "then there you are."
  • A simple fervent, Pray For Relief brings much of God's peace and help, and you can be blessed. Read examples of people who have been blessed [1]
  • Pray, because God will answer your prayers. Don't be afraid to tell your sins to God, he loves you.
  • Remember that God is ultimately the one who decides where you will go after you die, not you. You can live a good life, and do whatever it takes to go to Heaven, but God makes the final decision.
  • Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, strength and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. Most important commandment of all.

Warnings

  • The enemy of your soul, the devil is described as, "A roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1Peter 5:8) Satan is not omnipresent or omniscient. (He isn't everywhere like God is, and Satan doesn't know all things as God does.) The world systems are under the control of the evil one, but you need not to fear because the One who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Satan is behind many of what is going on in the world today, but remember not to take responsibility for your own sin and circumstances rather than placing the blame on Satan or someone else. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. (Prov. 3:5) Satan does in fact, desire that you not become saved by God. If you are not truly born-again, the word sown in you may be snatched away. Repent and trust in the Savior, for we cannot work our way into Heaven.
  • It is not by mere feelings. Be unwavering by instantly and constantly reaffirming your firm trust. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ, and plead with the Lord to grant you that new heart with new desires... desires to grow in holiness and walk like Christ, to be more like Him and not be afraid to proclaim the Gospel truth. Walk by faith, not by sight!
  • Serve God: And if it seems undesirable to you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether other gods...: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.(Joshua 24:15-28)
    • The service of God's people [should] be performed with a willing mind... guided by love. The carnal mind of man is enmity against God, therefore, is not naturally capable of such spiritual worship. Hence you must be born again... Those who are bound for heaven, must be willing to swim against the stream. God alone can give grace, yet He blesses our endeavors to engage men to join His service.Matthew Henry's "Concise Commentary"
