Peacocks are exotically beautiful, like an island flower. Here is how to draw one in four different styles. With a touch of color these pictures will captivate attention and draw gasps.

Steps

A Cartoon Peacock

  1. Draw a small oval for the peacock's head.
  2. Bisect it with an angular straight line.
  3. Based on the above line, create a triangle for the beak.
  4. Make curved lines for the upper part of the body.
  5. Overlap the body with a big vertical oval.
  6. Overlap it again with another semi-circle at the bottom.
  7. Create three small antenna-like lines spread out on the head of the bird.
  8. On top of the antenna-like lines create 5 similar-sized circles.
  9. Draw ray-like lines around the bird.
  10. On the axis of the rays create water-drop like shapes all around for the feather patterns.
  11. Detail the feathers, patterns and all the other body parts.
  12. Erase away all guidelines and add further detailing to the drawing.
  13. Color the gorgeous peacock!

A Side View Peacock

  1. Create a medium-sized oval.
  2. Sketch a small line overlapping the oval.
  3. Make the beak on the guide line.
  4. Create another oval within the earlier oval for the eye-area.
  5. Draw a small circle for the eye.
  6. Make a couple of curved lines for the neck and throat.
  7. Draw an incomplete angular oval for the wing of the peacock.
  8. Create 6 ray-like lines from back of the head.
  9. Draw an arch leaving some space above the ray of lines.
  10. Create similar-sized ovals on the arch overlapping each other.
  11. Draw clean lines on the guides with appropriate detailing.
  12. Clean-up all unnecessary and unwanted guide lines.
  13. Color the peacock with shades and details.

A Peacock

  1. Draw two small circles. The smaller circle is above the bigger one. This will provide the framework.
  2. Draw the body by using curve lines that connect the circles.
  3. Draw the beak using straight lines at the small circle.
  4. Draw the fan-like crest above the head. Draw a small circle for the eye.
  5. Draw the legs and feet using straight lines below the body.
  6. Draw the span of the train being displayed with details of feather near the body.
  7. Draw details for the displayed train feathers using eyespots and straight lines.
  8. Trace with a pen and erase unnecessary sketches. Add details.
  9. Color to your liking!

A Peahen

  1. Draw a circle and a big oblong. The circle is drawn at the upper right of the page. This will be the framework.
  2. Draw details for the legs and feet using straight lines.
  3. Draw curve lines to connect the circle and oblong. This is for the neck. Draw also a horizontal line in the middle of the circle and extend it a bit outside.
  4. Draw details for the beak and the fan-like crest above the head.
  5. Draw details for the feathers which are in the body and extend toward the tail.
  6. Refine the legs using curve lines.
  7. Trace with a pen and erase unnecessary sketches.
