This switch will amaze most people!

Steps

  1. Get a $1 bill and a $5 bill (or a small bill and a big bill of your choice).
  2. Fold the $5 bill (big bill) into eighths so it fits into your hand. Keep this a secret!
  3. Show the $1 bill (small bill) to your audience and make it clear that you are holding a $1 bill. For extra assurance you aren't cheating, turn it over so they can see the big ONE on the back.
  4. Make it clear that you are folding the $1 bill (small bill) into eighths. During this time, secretly switch the $1 bill (small bill) and the $5 bill (big bill) so that the $5 bill is in your hand. Unfold it and show the audience you now have a $5 bill!

Tips

  • You can also do this trick with other denominations, as long as they're different.
  • Create distractions for the audience!
  • Once you've done the switch, show the audience the big purple 5 on the back of the $5 bill for extra assurance.
  • Try to find the crispest dollar bills you can find.

Warnings

  • Do NOT use very old bills for this trick. They won't look good in the performance!
  • This may require practice, so practice in front of a mirror and when it is time to perform don't be looking at the bills the whole time!

Things You'll Need

  • $1 bill or any small bill
  • $5 bill or any bigger bill than your first chosen one
