Warm cinnamon and sugar apples are a yummy treat on a cold day.

Ingredients

  • 5 tsp water
  • Brown sugar
  • White sugar
  • Medium apple
  • Cinnamon
  • Butter

Steps

  1. Cut half of the apple into small chunks. Peeling is optional.
  2. Pour the water and butter into the pan. Let them melt, and then add the brown and white sugar. Add enough brown sugar that the mixture is a dark brown and somewhat thick. Sprinkle a few pinches of white sugar on top.
  3. Add the cut apples.
  4. Mix well, and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are somewhat soft and most of the sugar mixture has boiled away. It should be bubbling, not a full rolling boil.
  5. While still in the pan, add the cinnamon and mix well.
  6. Pour into a bowl and add more cinnamon if desired.
  7. Serve immediately. Makes one serving.

Tips

  • Use the full apple for two servings.
  • Add granola or oats for a healthy snack and to give the apples a crunch.
  • To make a delicious warm apple crisp, simply mix flour, sugar, butter, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg and sprinkle on top. Vanilla ice cream goes fabulous with it.
  • The measurements are not exact. Add more sugar and cinnamon if you like.

Warnings

  • Be careful when using the stove.
  • The apples might be hot, be careful when eating.
