Have fun making your own Java Chip/Chocolate Crème Frappuccino instead of spending the time and money at Starbucks. Making your own can also spoil you with all the whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. This recipe serves four.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons chocolate syrup plus extra for drizzle (optional)
  • 4-5 tablespoons chocolate chunks
  • 4 cups double-strength freshly brewed dark roast coffee.
  • Crushed ice
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Caramel syrup if you want Frappuccino caramel
  • Milk if you want it to be a little bit creamy

Steps

  1. Get your blender or kitchen machine and fill it about halfway with ice. The ice can either crushed or chopped.
  2. Pour the chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, and cooled-off coffee (or milk for the cream version)
  3. Turn on the blender at a medium to high speed. Try to get a thick, but icy, mixture.
  4. Get four glasses and pour the mixture in them.
  5. Spray whipped cream on top of each one. Take the chocolate syrup, (for your drizzling topping) and in a circular motion, drizzle some syrup on the whipped cream.

Tips

  • You can also add milk for a creamier frappuccino.
  • Be creative with it! Try adding other ingredients like cinnamon, caramel, or even a bit of cocoa powder on top to the recipe.
  • For the top instead of syrup, you can buy chocolate powder (sprinkle it on top).
  • If you do not have chocolate syrup, mix together hot chocolate powder with warm water!

Warnings

  • Make sure the coffee is cooled off and cold before you add to the ice otherwise everything will melt and it will be all liquid.
  • Mind the sharp edges of the blender.

Things You'll Need

  • A blender
  • 4 tall glasses
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • Milk
  • Cold Coffee
  • Whip Cream
