Adjust the Filter Strength on Instagram on iPhone or iPad

Steps
- Open Instagram. It’s the purple, pink, and orange camera icon on your home screen.
- If you’re not already signed in, enter your login information, or tap Log in as (your name) to continue.
- Tap the new post button. It’s a plus (+) sign inside of a rounded rectangle.
- You can only adjust the filter strength when making a new post.
- Select a photo and tap Next.
- Select a filter. Tap the filter you want to use at the bottom of the screen. You should now see a preview of your photo with the selected filter.
- Tap the half-filled sun icon. It’s at the top of the screen. A slider bar will appear below the photo.
- Move the slider to adjust the filter strength. Slide it to the left to decrease the strength of the filter, and to the right to increase it.
- Tap Done.
- Share your photo. Enter a caption, if desired, and then tap Share. The photo is now shared with the filter strength you specified.
