A sling bow is a great invention that any, and every, 11+ boy should have the chance to make. A sling bow will allow an individual to fire accurately, an arrow from a slingshot. It is the perfect survival, entertainment, and even hunting weapon that anyone can make for under $20.00 and is well worth the small manufacturing time and cost.

Steps

  1. Purchase a marksman, cross man, daisy, wrist rocket, etc. Just make sure it is a slingshot with a wrist brace. (these are all between $6.00 and $15.00 depending on where you live)
  2. Attach the 2 rubber bands to a key ring with a half hitch.
  3. remove the medical tubing bands on the slingshot and slide on the key ring rest, make sure the bands are on tight.
  4. Reattach the medical tubing bands, and you have a basic sling bow.
  5. You, for a little more money can buy a whisker biscuit arrow rest.
  6. Attach the whisker biscuit to the base of the slingshot with two zip ties tightly.
  7. after attaching the whisker biscuit you can now flip the whisker biscuit to a ready and down position so you can still shoot regular slingshot shot.

Tips

  • To make the arrow easier to hold remove the knock of the arrow and replace it with a golf tee, glued in with super glue.
  • You can also convert the sling bow for bow fishing by attaching the reel to the wrist brace.
  • A whisker biscuit is around $20 at a walmart, it might be the most expensive rest you can use but it is by far the best.
  • Use the black replacement bands for the marksman slingshots, they are the strongest.
  • Make sure, if you are using the rubber band and key ring rest that your key ring is firmly set in the middle of the slingshot as close to the top as possible.
  • If you intend to only shoot arrows out of the sling bow shorten the elastic bands by {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}}, depending on your draw length
  • to aim with the wicker basket, hold the sling bow like a bow and then use the cut part of the wicker basket and the tip of the arrow like a gun sight.
  • Another way to make the arrow easier to hold is to replace the pouch with an arrow string and release loop, which will practically turn the sling bow into a bow.

Warnings

  • in some stores and counties you may need to be between the ages of 16-21 to purchase a slingshot.
  • Do not use the cheap tan bands for your slingshot, they are the weakest and CAN BREAK DURING YOUR DRAW only use the red or black bands.
  • DO NOT MISS USE THIS WEAPON AS IT IS DEADLY TO ANIMALS AND HUMANS!!!
