So, you want to get a kiss from the special someone who's been making your heart flutter? Worried you might just pass out from excitement? Read all about it!

Steps

  1. First off, know that you won't (usually) pass out or faint. This usually only happens in movies as a physical hyperbole for effect. However, do keep in mind that your excitement will build. The key is to stay calm. Take deep breaths, take a drink. If you do that, you should be fine.
  2. Unsure of how to kiss? Take a look at [1] Wiki how to kiss file for a better look.
  3. Keep your lips soft and kissable. This means, make sure they're not chapped, or dry. If they are, take your toothbrush, wet it with warm water, and gently scrub your lips. This will exfoliate them, and leave them smooth. If you don't want to do that, exfoliate with sugar. To do this, put a pinch of sugar in the hand opposite of that one you write with (if right handed, put the sugar in your left), wet your writing hand's finger tips with warm water and wet your lips, let no more than 7 - 10 dips of water mix with the sugar, dab the mix onto your index finger of your writing hand, and scrub your lips gently in a clockwise circular motion. WARNING: Do not do both methods, as it could harm your lips by giving small cuts, drying out your lips, or making then sore from rubbing too hard. After you exfoliate, use a moisturizing chap stick, such as Blistex Deep Renewal, or Burt's Beeswax lip balm. Fresh breath is always a plus!
  4. Make sure you're on good enough terms with your crush that kissing is okay with them. Make sure they're comfortable with it. If you're extremely close with them, chances are a kiss will be an okay move to make. A good way to make sure they're okay with it, without asking (if you're shy) is to try to break the touch barrier by hugging, or simply holding hands.
  5. After you've made sure they're comfortable with it, hint for one. When they're talking to you, look them in the eyes nonchalantly, and subtly, but noticeably, look from their eyes to their lips, look back up. Give a soft smile, and hopefully, they'll get the hint. Make a French kiss too!
  6. Kissing is a two way street - both people need to be engaged and willing. When you know they're okay with it, slowly move in closer. Both partners need to move in together, because it shows that both are willing. The popular/standard is girls move in 30% of the way, guys move in 60% of the way.
  7. If you get nervous, relax, take a breath when they exhale (you'll literally take their breath away).
  8. Focus on the kiss. Live in that moment. It's perfect after all, right?
  9. After the kiss, break away by just a few inches, and smile to let them know you liked it. Who knows, you may even go back in for seconds.

Tips

  • Don't moan in the kiss. If you really enjoy it, smile somewhat seductively while your lips are still together.
  • Keep Listerine breath strips or Altoids in your pocket for a breath freshener. Unless you've just had a drink, your breath could potentially have an unpleasant smell.
  • For best results for soft lips, use a good chap stick or lip balm daily. Put an extra heavy coat of it on before bed. Doing this helps lock in moisture, and when you sleep is when your skin renews itself. Double the good stuff! Also, if you want your lips to taste sweet, do the sugar exfoliate about an hour before you go out with your crush. It'll be fresher, newer, and by theory, smoother. Do not exfoliate twice in one day. And after exfoliating, use a light lip balm.
  • If your kiss is turned down, don't become upset, though it could be hard not to. Just smile like it was nothing, and give your crush about five or so minutes by themselves. Excuse yourself to the bathroom, or to go buy a drink. When you come back, just say "sorry about that," like it was no big deal if it really bothers you, and carry on.
  • Do not douse yourself in perfume or cologne. While smelling good is a bonus, if you wear too much, you might make your partner choke/gag on the smell, especially if it's a musky fragrance.
  • Practice your kiss beforehand if you're worried about how good of a kisser you are. Practice in your hand, a pillow, what ever you find suitable. Kisses shouldn't be forceful. It's very soft and delicate, like a flower.
  • Girls, lip gloss, lipstick, and other thick and sticky lip items like that are a big no-no. They're gooey, sticky, and the guy you're kissing might not want a cherry red crush color on his mouth. Chapstick and lip balm are the safest because they moisturize without being too sticky, most have pleasant smells, and if it gets on your partner's lips, it's okay. Also stay away from girly scented ChapStick and lip balms. Stick to universal flavors like mint, unscented/unflavored, or a very subtle vanilla.

Warnings

  • Don't attempt this in a very public place such as school,or the mall. Try a small concert, at the park in a quiet area, or something to that effect.
  • Use a hypoallergenic chap stick/lip balm to avoid allergic reactions on your partner.
