If you are between the ages of 10 and 13, kissing probably seems like a huge deal. Don't worry! This page will help you cover all the steps on how to kiss young. So just follow these steps, and you'll be fine.

Steps

  1. Look for signs. If your boyfriend or girlfriend wants to be around you, and is always gracefully touching your arm or hand, or is always standing really close it probably means that he/she has a kiss on his/her mind. If you feel the same way, then just act similarly. she/he might lean in closer to you when you are sitting alone, or she/he might even fix your hair. This is also a sign that she/he wants to, you just lean in a little closer.
  2. Know your limits. If she/he tries to French Kiss you, and you don't want to, then just tell him/her. Your first young kiss shouldn't really be a French kiss anyway. When you're young it should probably be a 10 second peck out. Not really anything more because it may make them feel uncomfortable, you aren't trying to make your first kiss a make out session.
  3. Make sure (s)he is ready. If you aren't sure, ask subtly "Have you ever kissed anyone?", and if they say no, ask "Do you want to kiss anyone?"
  4. Follow his/her lead. You will know when she/he wants to stop. Then you just gently break off.

Tips

  • After the kiss, if (s)he goes away, don't be alarmed; (s)he is just taking in the moment.
  • If you aren't comfortable with kissing, tell him/her. Remember to only kiss when you are ready. Don't try to force a kiss.
  • Also, give her a note if you're a guy, to meet in the hallway, if you don't have the same class. On the note tell her to meet you by the water fountain, or perhaps, the bathroom stall, or by the bathroom. It's better to do it where no teacher can see you. And also, when you tell her how you feel, lean in for the peck. She will blush and then smile. If she walks away, it's either a good thing or she hates you. Could be either one. If she stares at you she wants more, so go back but this time for the lips. Then she should walk away smiling. If she says something along the lines of, "Wow..." she is totally into you! And you're in!
  • It will seem like (s)he's not a good boy/girlfriend if (s)he can't look at you after you kiss, but at that age (s)he's probably just shy.
  • Don't ever tell him/her that his/her breath smells bad or (s)he wasn't a good kisser. That pretty much eliminates your chances of getting a better, longer kiss.
  • This only works if you have never kissed someone outside your family before. If you are walking him/her home, or vice versa, ask him/her if (s)he has ever kissed anyone outside family before. Once (s)he answers, you give your answer. Then say that you're wondering what it's like. Maybe, if (s)he wants to kiss you too, (s)he'll show you. This doesn't have to be on a walk.
  • At your age, then your kisses will be hidden or in a truth or dare. Don't feel afraid, just kiss him/her and it will be over if you want it to be.
  • Give her/him signs you want to kiss.
  • Try to act nice and smile at him/her every time they look at you.
  • If you want to kiss him/her make sure she is ready to be kissed.
  • Don't rush, if you do it will seem very sudden, and awkward, especially if they are not ready, so be 100% sure before doing so, and try find out the places he/she is comfortable in.

Warnings

  • If you're planning on kissing at school, be careful. A lot of schools have a restriction for PDA (public display of affection).
  • When kissing tilt your head to the side a little ways. Hitting noses will ruin the moment. Most people tilt their head to the right, so try that. His/her right is your left so don't worry if s/he tilts his/hers head to the right. If s/he tilts his/her head to the same side as you, just wait for them to readjust, you don't want to both be flicking your heads from side to side, as this will ruin the moment, and make you both look like confused turtles.
  • Don't spread around rumors about your kiss and don't tell a friend that can't really keep secrets. If you need to tell someone tell like your mom or your best friend if (s)he is an excellent secret keeper. One of the best people to tell is a friend or family member you trust that lives in another state/country. (Chances of kids at your school finding out about the kiss would then be reduced immensely.) You do not want everyone knowing about your personal kisses.
  • If the girl is not into you then take her to the movies or somewhere. If your parents don't let you then go over to her house. If that's not possible then in school make eye contact with her touch her hand lean closer and closer slowly if she leans back then she doesn't want to kiss.
