This wikiHow teaches you how to mute and delete Discord channels on your Android device. As there’s no way to leave a Discord channel, these options can be helpful alternatives.

Steps

Muting the Channel

  1. Open Discord. It’s a purple or blue icon with a white game pad illustration. You’ll typically find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
    • Though there’s no way to leave a channel, a good way to stop letting it distract you is to mute it.
  2. Tap . It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Select the server that hosts the channel. Server icons are listed along the left side of the screen.
  4. Tap the name of the channel.
  5. Tap . It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.
  6. Tap Channel Settings.
  7. Slide the “Mute Channel” switch to the On position. The switch will turn blue. You will no longer see notifications of activity in the channel.

Deleting the Channel

  1. Open Discord. It’s a purple or blue icon with a white game pad illustration. You’ll typically find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
    • Deleting a channel makes it so nobody else can use the channel.
    • You must be a server admin to delete a channel.
  2. Tap . It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Select the server that hosts the channel. Server icons are listed along the left side of the screen.
  4. Tap the name of the channel.
  5. Tap . It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.
  6. Tap Channel Settings.
  7. Tap . It’s at the top-right corner of the Channel Settings screen.
  8. Tap Delete Channel. A confirmation window will appear.
  9. Tap OKAY. The channel is now deleted from the server.
