Tired of the old primary schools they have in the Sims? Do your children and teens want to go to the best? The legendary Private school? Firstly, Private School doesn't deplete their fun as badly as Public School. Secondly, when Sim-children do well in Private School they get rewarded with skill points instead of cash. One of the more challenging scenarios to win is inviting the Headmaster over and getting your child into Private School. This scenario is easy to win though if you follow a few basic, sensible principles.

Steps

  1. Learn that you need to earn 90 out of approximately 135 potential points. The first element to the Headmaster Scenario is the tour of the House. This can potentially earn a maximum 45 points. How you win this scenario is by having the best possible Room Score.
  2. Pay attention to the items that will give you the best possible room score:
    • Floors and walls that are worth at least 10 Simoleans each.
    • Plenty of lighting around the house. It doesn't have to be expensive lighting, the area just has to be well-lit.
    • Artworks within the house and trees and a well maintained small garden outside the house all help to add to your score. The environment score is very important.
  3. Pay attention to the following elements that will kill your room score. In extreme cases, this can lead the Headmaster in leaving the lot the minute he gets there. He doesn't even need to enter the house.
    • Unpaid or ignored bills.
    • Broken objects.
    • Weeds in your garden.
    • Unpainted walls or a room with no roof.
  4. Break the ice with the Headmaster. Some examples include a hot tub, the Myshuno game, or a bar. These things are bonuses and will make your score go up higher. You have to get the Headmaster to do these things with you.
  5. Make sure you have a child ready at the gate to greet them at 5 pm sharp. You have one hour to greet the Headmaster or they will leave. When he arrives, you have six hours to reach 90 points to win the scenario.
  6. Fix dinner. The best meal that has worked are pork chops. Salmon is also a very good choice. Even if your Sim has all cooking points and is able to make lobster thermidor, it is a highly flammable dish and for most of the time, if you're not careful, can catch on fire. Start making dinner about 30 minutes before the Headmaster arrives, so it will be ready.
  7. Give the Headmaster a tour of the house. It is one of the "entertain" interactions. Enter a room and click "show room". You can do this with multiple rooms, but make sure that they are clean.
  8. Watch for the results. If you don't have 90 by the end of the visit, the Head does not accept your sim-child and the parents and kid are left with a bad memory for being rejected. Don't fret over it. You can try again next time. And then, you'll have the smarts for it.

Tips

  • Try to fix dinner before the headmaster arrives so no time is wasted. But, don't cook it too early or else it will spoil.
  • It's better to start with giving a tour of the house. As mentioned before, the house should get a pretty good environment score.
  • For the schmoozing meter: If your sim hasn't got at least 4 charisma skills already, don't panic. That's just a little help. If you do have it, it is much easier to win over the Headmaster. If not, just chat a bit, tell jokes, use the bonus objects...etc.
