Living in trees - now that's something to think about, isn't it? If only you could easily build a treehouse. Guess what? You can!

Steps

  1. Make a wide and long hollow tube out of wood from trees that has not been made into planks yet. Make sure you make it going up. A good distance up would be 10 or so blocks.
  2. Add ladders so you can go up and down the wooden tube. You could also make a staircase, preferably cobblestone.
  3. Add a plank wood shack going around the tube. Feel free to widen the platform for the shack to be on. Make sure to leave door holes in the shack.
  4. Make bridges connecting it to other shacks.
  5. Add finishing touches such as support beams for realism. Paintings for class. Even furniture like bookshelves, beds, and chests
  6. Add extra layers to your tree house by extending the tube and repeating steps 2 through 5
  7. Your tree house is complete!

A huge treehouse

  1. Get a lot of wood. About 597 wood should be enough.
  2. Make a hollow trunk that is 30 high 4 wide 4 long. The inside should be hollow.
  3. Make a door in the front on the bottom and middle. Make ladders inside to the top and middle
  4. At the top, make a platform into a square out of wooden slabs. Make the sides 13x13 wooden planks.
  5. Extend the walls 4 blocks high.
  6. Make a roof the same as the floor.
  7. Extend the trunk 10 high.
  8. Make the inside of the tree house into rooms. They can be whatever size you want.
  9. Make windows out of glass panes.
  10. Make the roof out of spruce wood slabs and planks.
  11. Make another tree about 16 blocks away 15 high 4 wide 4 long.
  12. Make a circle about 10 blocks in diameter. Make it around the top of the second tree and the middle of the first tree.
  13. Make a bridge to connect the two trees. (You can make the bridge anyway you want.)
  14. Make the top of the second tree 6 blocks higher.
  15. Add fences for railings and poles for the second tree.
  16. Add leaves on the top of the second tree and under the treehouse on the first tree.
  17. Add decorations on your treehouse and you’re done. Finish by putting torches around and in your treehouse to prevent hostile mobs from spawning in.

Tips

  • Make sure you have a secure way of entering the house.
  • Light it up! Make sure mobs won't spawn in your house.
  • Get a wide view of the surrounding area by building your tree house on the tallest tree, make a lookout point or build more floors.
  • Use a trapdoor to make it look more like a treehouse.
  • Use Sneak mode (Left Shift by default) so you don't fall from dangerous heights.
  • Make it on a really tall tree so you can watch the sunset and see mobs that are far away.
  • If you want to make one fast, just find a tree and build on its branches, but remove some leaves, not all of them but some of them to make it look more like a tree house.
  • Try creating it in a jungle or creating a jungle around it.
  • Bone meal instantly turns saplings into full-grown trees
  • With the wood you obtain from destroying the trees, create wood planks, and a crafting table. Use it to create some sticks out of wood planks, create an axe and torches. Torches are made with coal and a single stick.
  • If you want to make a tree house out of a natural tree but can't find one big enough, use jungle or spruce giants. Place saplings of one of those two trees in a 2X2 formation to get massive trees. Start placing blocks in whatever design you'd like and build up from there. Finally, put a roof on and furnish it.
  • In the case of a lighting storm, cover the roof with cobblestone slabs. Fireproof, lighting proof, and mod-spawn proof!

Warnings

  • Destroy the trees in the surrounding area. If you start a forest fire, your work (quite literally) will go up in flames.
  • Remember not to make it too high as it may be struck by lightning and catch on fire.
  • Add torches to the surrounding area as well. It will increase the visibility during nighttime, and prevent hostile mobs from spawning. Don't have too many people in the tree.
