No, this is not one of those 'over-the-top' loud and annoying rituals we perform when we see friends. The art of the secret handshake is something that is quiet and bold at the same time. We have all seen the two over-hyped people who have this over-hyped hi-five they do when they get a question right on a game. We all know this is very annoying. On another hand, at one time or another, we may have seen that quiet, quick & cool ritual two friends perform. This is the cool one. Makes you wish you did that and got noticed too.

Steps

  1. Get a friend to do it with. Be sure it is one friend or a group of friends in the same clique/social circle as you. This is crucial
  2. Brainstorm. Shall it start simply with the hands, or maybe a sliding motion from the wrist? Be sure to define where it starts.
  3. Add 2-10 steps. from 2-4 mean your cool and in the in-crowd. 5-10 means you are amazing and will have people trying to imitate you. This may get annoying. Hang in there.
  4. Practice makes perfect. They say no one's perfect, too bad! You are the amazing exception.
  5. Avoid awkward motions. Don't flail your arms everywhere and stuff like that. Keep it subtle. Subtlety and sophistication is always stylish.
  6. Be carefree when doing your intimate shake. If you're on your guard while doing it, (looking at other people, checking their reactions, smiling) they're going to think of you as an annoying nuisance, thus transforming your "cool" handshake into a dowdy, dumb, unnecessary target for ridicule.

Tips

  • Don't bring more than 3 body parts, hands, wrists & feet is already pushing it. Simply hands can do so many things.
  • Keep your use of the lower body to a minimum. Foot locking is old and played out and is usually made a joke out of.
  • Less extreme.
  • Don't act like your a show off with your handshake to other people.

Warnings

  • Don't give up! Practice makes perfect.
  • Practice! Do not slip up and start over and over and over. only try 2x. After that say "Whatever, never mind."
