Arrows are the second half of the basic equipment for the ranging skill. Making arrows is slower than making bows, though. You must be a member to access this skill.

Steps

  1. Cut a regular tree to get logs. Have a knife in your inventory and click on the knife. Then click on a log to get an arrow shaft. Regular logs work best.
  2. Choose the "Arrow Shafts" option. There is a little animation for your character. and it will turn the logs in your inventory into 15 arrow shafts (per log). You can also buy this item at the Grand Exchange, or from other players.
  3. Get feathers, either from killing chickens or the magic shop in Port Sarim. Click on the feathers and then the arrow shafts. They will then become "headless arrows". You can also buy feathers for a Grand Exchange price of 15 each.
  4. Use your smithing skill to create arrow heads from bars. Depending on your smithing level, you will be able to smith from bronze to rune arrowheads but you will need to make sure that you can fletch these arrows. (You can open the skill page during the game to check your choices). You can also buy these items in the Grand Exchange for varying prices, although they may or may not sell.
  5. Attach the arrowheads to the headless arrows. This will create the full arrows.

Tips

  • You can find the levels required to smith each arrow level by checking the Fletching Skill Guide in-game.
  • This is a quick way to make easy money as a member.

Warnings

  • You need to keep watch for tree sprites, which are a random event and can appear at any moment. If you stop chopping the tree quickly, it won't be able to break your hatchet.
