Make Quick and Easy Rice Pudding

Homey rice pudding is a comfy dessert. The following recipe uses quick cooking rice and Splenda.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup instant rice, such as Minute Rice
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Splenda Granular or 1/2 cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, or nutmeg
  • ¼ cup raisins, optional

1/2 table spoons vanilla extract (optional)

Steps

  1. Add all ingredients to a 2 to 3-quart saucepan.
  2. Mix.
  3. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
  4. Cover and let stand 12 to 15 minutes.
  5. Stir occasionally during standing time.
  6. Serve warm with sweetened whipped cream or plain cream poured over the top.
  7. Serves 4.

Tips

  • You could sprinkle some cinnamon on top for flavor.
  • This is a quick and thrifty dessert.
  • May use granulated sugar instead of Splenda.
  • May also use Soy Milk for Vegetarians or Vegans
